water substitute additive to grout for permanent sealer

Mennards has a product that is used instead of water when you mix grout up. they say you never have to seal that, ever. Is this a viable option on non owner occupied dwellings where cant seal every little while, let alone remember to. Dont think is was all that expensive, just got a fast look and a point cause they were so busy,,,,I was just shopping anyway. Or is the epoxy grout the way to go??

I've tried some of this stuff, but it hasn't been down long enough to know.

The cost is considerable. I think you'll pay $12 for a sack of grout and maybe up to $35 for the additive for one sack. But it is still much less expensive than epoxy or urethane.

I think the color will matter. If you think it will keep white grout white, you had better think again.

They offer it in a bigger bottle at h/d for less money, but I don't know if it is a comparable product.

It does seem to make the grout set up faster, or maybe I'm just imagining that.
