Underlayment interrogation

Hey guys,

I'm planning on installing laminated flooring on concrete in my basement.
I did a lot of researches and from what I understood, I need to install a vapor barrier first, a padding (underlayment) and then the laminated floor... Is that right?

Now, it's not always clear if some underlayment padding act as vapor barrier as well.

I'd like to purchase this padding for all his features.

Can you confirm if with this underlayment, I need to install a vapor barrier made of polyethylene?

Also, if I was going to install a rubber floor in my mechanical room, should I use the exact same combination of underlayment and vapor barrier?

Happy new year to you all!

Re: Underlayment interrogation

Roberts underlayment is fine. However, you may want to consult with the flooring manufacturer to see what they recommend for warranty purposes. I also question laminate in a basement. The rubber floor may not call for underlayment. Again, check the manufacturer's website for that. If they do, then the Roberts will work fine.
