Tiling

I am trying to tile the entrance of the house to cover 3' x 6' area including 3 stairs.

Some one has tiled the area with laminated tiles. Upon removing the old laminated tiles, I have discovered three layers of different tiles on the three steps before you enter in the living area of this house.

I don't know how to remove the old residual adhesive from the steps as well as the entrance area inside on the floor.

Any tips or suggestions please and Thank you.

Mirza

Ok, the old laminate tiles are gone, so good riddance. What three layers of different type of old tiles are left? Is the substrate concrete or wood? You probably won't need to remove the old residual adhesive, but rather you may be removing some of the substrate, if it's wood at least.
