Tile layout in bathroom

Ok so I added 2 new floor joists under my bathroom as the plumber hacked them up. I put a thread on the Building and Construction forum. Now I purchased the tile and I am ready to install it. Looking for opinions on the direction of the planks. I laid it out as best I could without cutting them to get a feel for it. You will have to imagine a more random pattern.

Re: Tile layout in bathroom

I like the bottom layout better.

With the long tile ran across the narrow way it looks too much like an old outhouse floor.

Oh wait a minute, this is an indoor "outhouse", ain't it.

I still like it with the tile ran the long way in the room.

Re: Tile layout in bathroom

I agree. My wife likes the first layout.

The wall with the door in it and the back wall are not parallel so her way would make things easier. I really like the second layout so I guess I should run the tile parallel to the door and let it hit the back wall at a little bit of an angle?

And when you put the shoe molding in , the angle won't be seen too easily anyway.

That is if the gap is not very wide.

Re: Tile layout in bathroom

It's off by about half an inch over the 6 ft run. It will probably be hard to notice with the toilet and vanity etc.

The guys who built my house must have been hammered most of the time. The framing is so off. Nothing is even close to square or straight.

Thanks for the advice with this and the floor joists de-nagorg
