Staining Brazilian Cherry

I have about 2500 square feet of brazilan cherry, 10 years old and needs to be sanded down and refnished, 500 square feet of tile that i want remove and replace with matching brazilian cherry.

I do not like the color from brazilian cherry, so from the little research i have done the best bet is to stain it a dark brown color.

will I be able to match the new and the old floors once i sand down the finished floor to a raw -unfinished floor? is it basically the darker the more chance the red /orange wont come out in the floors over time, and is darker the better chance to match the floors?

Re: Staining Brazilian Cherry

Yes, the darker the stain, the more likely you are to get a match. That said, cherry can be difficult to stain so I would practice on a couple boards to get the process right.
