Seam binder questions

So I want to install seam binders in my house there is already carpet and tile down but there are small areas that it's fraying and tile is a little chipped in places. this is why I want to put a seam binder here are my questions.

1. Do I need to pull the tack strip up or drill through it into concrete?
2. How would I make a 90 degree turn without it being ugly/sharp?
3. After dowells are in how do I know where to hammer if I can't see the dowells with the carpet over lapping?

I have been told to drill holes and insert dowells then hammer the nails that come with the binder similar to this http://www.hardwarestore.com/pop-pri...x?prodNo=79345

Thanks!

#I drill thru

#2 Overlap, mark and cut 45

#3 The holes in the seam binder (flat metal) are already drilled. just measure where they are so you know where to drill. They when you nail, you can't miss the dowels.

Thanks a lot I really appreciate it and it came out pretty nice! It was tough to get the holes drilled in the right place, in some places the bit would walk away from it's hole but all in all a great learning experience!
