Re-Installing Oak Floor

I'm about ready to start putting down my old oak flooring. Typical 1950's stuff.....1/2" thick T&G boards...about 2" wide.

The original house had the oak nailed on top of 1x6' boards ran diagonally. No vapor barrier.

My new sub-floor is the same 1x6's with 3/4" T&G plywood on top (long story)

When I did the bamboo upstairs...1 1/8" T&G sub-floor...and per manuf instructions, put down a vapor barrier (tar paper in my case)

Do I put down tar paper in this case?

I'm guessing I do.

Yes I would suggest using a vapor barrier. Tar paper will do. We generally use AquaBar B which is a great product.
