I have a tile floor transitioning into a wood floor. The tile is 5/8 high and I was going to use a reducer, but have found that it is much cheaper to buy ranch base moulding and it has almost the identical shape as the reducer. Is there any reason not to use the moulding in place of the reducer.
I use oak in my house to go from floor to tile. It was cut on a table saw to the size needed. Oak base will work. I have both pine and oak colonial in my house. Oak is stained and pine is painted white.
