Last week our porch flooded and some water came into my office through the patio door and got a small area of the carpet wet. We removed the furniture and pulled back the carpet. We intended to remove the pad, but before we could, it dried with no odor or warping, so we think it's fine to keep it.
Is it hard to put that carpet back down ourselves? All the DIY carpet videos I've found have been putting down new carpet, not reattaching an existing carpet. Where can I find out what to do?
Good luck with that idea.
Toss the padding.
Really want to take the chance of mold under the carpet?
Padding is cheap.
Do you own a carpet stretcher to reinstall the carpet.
A pro can redo it and have it perfect in about 1/2 hour.
