Prepping Concrete For Ceramic Tile

I am prepping the bathroom concrete floor to lay ceramic tile. The previous tile had a cork underlayment. After removing tile and underlayment, I am left with a residue. Would I be okay just using a floor scrapper to get as much up as possible, or should I rent a floor sander to really get it up? Thanks!

Use a razor scraper---do not use any chemicals--they will soak the slab and cause a bond breaker---If that fails--a hand held angle grinder fitted with 60 grit sand paper or a diamond grinding cup will work--
