one piece vinyl flooring

I need a recommend for glue down vinyl floor. It's a small area so cost can be high. It's been 20 yrs or so for me and the last one was supposed to self tighten/glue edge only and it was a failure. It shrank 1+" from the edges.
I am looking for something cushioned as well, if the industry has come up with something better.
Brand?
Thanks in advance.

Not much in terms of cushioning out there in the glue down monolithics.

Is cost a primary concern?

Re: one piece vinyl flooring

Vinyl is not much different than it was 20 years ago although there are other "vinyls" with different compositions and, of course, they take special adhesive to lay them properly. When it comes to cushioning, I don't know of any sheet vinyl that is cushioned although the thicker vinyls have a cushioining component to them. Armstrong has always made good sheet vinyl as far as I know. If it's a small area, check the remnant section of the big box stores. You can find a remnant for very cheap and it may be a high end vinyl. Just be sure to ask someone which adhesive goes with the install of the vinyl you may pick out.

To add, if you really want cushioning over all else, you may want to look into luxury vinyl which lays down a lot like laminate flooring but is thicker and flexible. I have several friends who installed LV in their kitchens and they love it. Easy on the feet when standing for long periods doing dishes, etc.

Re: one piece vinyl flooring

It's a small area, no more than 13' of 12' wide roll. There's no time for left over searching. I searched and asked a little and it looks like congoleum airstep evolution is popular and available. Armstrong is another brand I know. But it's for my parents who prefer white tile design from the 70's and it's all dark stones now. The vinyl will butt against reddish slate floor that comes to about the middle of the kitchen. The house built mid 50's used to have radiant concrete floor but the iron pipe is long rusted away. I was thinking of cushioning for the cold as well but at this point not sure they will like any pattern these days.
