new to self leveling compound. need guidance

I am tiling my floor bathroom and want to make sure the floor is nice and level. I already used thin set to attach 1/2" durock along with screws.

Ive been reading installation instructions on some self leveling products and it states i need to pour it over metal lath. Do i need to do this over the durock?

any tips will be great!

I'm going to guess that you shouldn't be using this on top of the durock, but instead under it. Someone more knowledgeable will chime in soon.

And Mikegp would be right.

I used it right over the plywood subfloor (per manufacturers instruction) worked great to level a 1/2" deflection over an 8' section. Be careful that NO voids are left in the floor to the basement.... floor looked solid to me, poured the leveler and had a flood in the basement.....that was a LONG day. The compound must have came through the nail holes b/c it came down the edges of each joist. In the ens it turned out perfect and the bathroom looks good. :(
