Lost Here

When the tiles are down here ithere is about a 3" space left which winds up going down to 2" on the the other end because something is not even. Not sure what to do there. Was thinking some sort of saddle but that's not going to work. Not sure what to do with the face either where the base molding is. Once the tile is laid there will be about a 2" space above that base molding. Anyone have pics of a step like this to help give me some ideas. I google but could not find much. Thanks a lot.

No pictures for you---the key words for Google---tile reducer---tile transition strip--

I like to make transition strips out of wood----the wood can take some abuse--and are simple to make if you have a table saw and router---
