Laminated Flooring on Concrete

Hi all,

So, I'm finally working on the flooring for my basement. The concrete is flat enough and I've decided to go with laminated floor.

My basement doesn't have moisture issue since I have tested several times on several areas.

I understand that I need to place a vapor barrier first, then padding, and finally the laminated floor.

For the vapor barrier, do I need to tape it onto the concrete? If yes, what kind of tape is good for such application?

Is there any recommendation for padding?

Thanks!

You need to do whatever the manufacturer suggests. Most won't warranty laminate below grade.

Most manufacturers allow engineered flooring below grade, better than laminate anyway.

Just not going to find many fans of Laninate floors in general from any of the pros, here or on any DIY website.
We've all seen what happens from just to high a humity, a simple dog bowl sitting on it, sump pump failure, using it in a bathroom.

Can you tell use exactly which product you plan to install?

What tests have you performed several times?

Does your basement have a sump pump?
