Laminate Transitions

I am installing a laminate floor, I have one transition where the laminate will be installed in two rooms and run the same direction (the two rooms are next to each other). There is a 36" door way separating the two rooms. Do I use a T strip? I have only seen T-Strips where the narrow end of the laminate is in the doorway, in this instance the LONG side of the laminate plank will be in the door way.

How do I transition that?

Yes. Same expansion and contractions rules still apply.
