Question

floor joist spacing for tile

Hi, I'm starting a bathroom remodel. Single level house built in 1991. I've removed the old vinyl flooring and 1/2" particle board underlayment. I was going to install ceramic tile, but it looks like I've got 32" OC joist spacing. Joists are thick though. It looks like all sistered 2x6's. Subfloor is 1 and 1/8th inch thick plywood. Seems strong when I jump on it. Will this work for tile? I know 16 OC is preferred, but will the relatively thick plywood subfloor and thick joists make up for the 32 OC spacing?
