How to use tile spacers

I bought the rigid tile spacers...I hear that you should remove them after about 3p minutes but I was wondering how this is done without stepping on or disturbing the floor tiles. This is my first tiling project so take pity on me!

Re: How to use tile spacers

Normally we just leave spacers in until the tiles are dry. never heard of them being removed so quickly.

Wouldn't the spacers stick to the thinset and be tough to remove or does the smooth plastic release from thinset easily?

Usually they are put in sortof loose and not pushed into the thinset to tight. Yest, they smooth plastic should make them easier to remove. Sometimes you need the take a smooth flat screwdriver and pop them up before grout.

Ya, the only reason I know of to remove them early is if you don't have enough for the entire job. I'll use my pocket knife to pry up any stubborn ones.
