We need to trim out the top of these stairs. I have stair bullnose for the laminate but haven't glued it since I don't know what to do against the wall and around railing post. I can place regular baseboard on the hallway wall (pic 2) but I don't know what to do on the stairwell wall as the baseboard looks odd while coming up stairs. And, I don't know how to trim out around the railing post (pic 4).
#1, Never should have install laminate on a second floor.
Now you have a trip hazard where you installed that transition strip.
To fix the mess you have you need base cap on to of the skirt board.
Flooring was not cut back far enough from the ballisters which will cause the flooring to buckel.
Base cap, 1/4 round, shoe molding will trim them out.
Should have been a landing tread at the top of the stairs, not what you have the there now.
Sorry, but should have asked here before doing it.
There's been dozens of people asking this same question in the past all where advised not to use laminate.
