How to select carpet with pad for finishing attic project?

I have received two estimates. One estimate has 27 ounce carpet with 7lb pad while another estimate has Essay-1 35 ounce with 6# pad for attic flooring. Do you think Essay-1 35 ounce with 6# pad is good enough for the attic flooring over the car garage? I want good insulation in the attic. Thank you for your answer.

Rather than being concerned with insulation, I would want the pad that should go with the carpet you are buying. Different carpets need different pads for long life and wear. See what the mill says to use.
