i definitely spent a good hour scraping up 9x9 asbestos tiles one day...not doing that again

Before we knew that asbestos was "dangerous", I scraped up thousands of feet of it. And at 67, the doctors marvel at how clear my lungs are. (of course I never smoked)

Rusty, as you know, removing asphalt or vinyl asbestos tiles in not dangerous unless you start sanding them or do as a neighbor's dog did a few times........eat them. Even if you sand them, it's unlikely anything bad would happen unless you did it for 30 years or?. But of course it's not a good idea to sand and why take chances? Removing carefully, shouldn't be a problem.

I last saw asbestos floor tile sold in a hardware store in Ohio in 1989. You can get floor tile tested for asbestos at www.diysampletesting.com
