Floating Vinyl Plank

What are your thoughts on Floating Vinyl Plank? I have never used it and as far as I know have never walked on it. Just seems to me that it would move around and buckle. I do like the way it snaps together and is supposed to be waterproof. https://www.menards.com/main/floorin...4453347104.htm

Yeah, that may be a problem. No one lives at the house. I keep the temp at about 45 and only run it up to about 60 when I am there working. Directions say keep it between 65 and 85. Also wondering if osb is suitable for underlayment with this?

Re: Floating Vinyl Plank

Is this the planking that you can install over an existing floor such as
linoleum or tiles? If so my son just installed it recently in a rental home
he owns. It looks great and is suppose to be very durable.
He said the installation was easy.

I think I still have the before and after pic he sent me
if youíre interested.

Yes it is. I would like to see the pics when you get a chance. Thanks

Re: Floating Vinyl Plank

We had that installed at our marina. We have a few people on the board who are involved with real estate and property management who all recommended it. It's amazing stuff! Looks great and wears well.

I've also used the floating, flexible vinyl planks with overlapping, adhesive-lined edges. Again, it looks and wears well, and the bond between planks is very secure. It does show any unevenness in the underlayment though.

Neither one moves around at all. This stuff is pretty heavy and would be hard to move even if there's no furniture on it.

Re: Floating Vinyl Plank

As long as it's installed correctly none of the things your worryed about are going to happen.
I installed it in a kitchen long ago and it's been through two renters that had pets, and I'm back living in the house with a dog that slobbers all over the place when she drinks and it still looks like new.
Easy to clean.
