Dricore around drains

I am installing Dricore 4 sq. ft. panels in a basement that has a sump pump and a second drain that are currently level with the concrete (with metal covers). The plan is to carpet over the Dricore and I'd like some suggestions on covering the sump pump and second drain. I am think about a small, removable panel for both, but would appreciate other suggestions. Thanks.

Re: Dricore around drains

Sump pump needs access. Floor drain does not but it should have a primer line installed to keep the trap filled.

Re: Dricore around drains

Dri-core or any raised subfloor over a below grade slab with sump well and floor drains is not a good idea.

I would make a removable box for the well, easy fix and you can make it look appropriate. The floor drain is another story unless you can install a primer line as joed mentioned. I have cheated in the past, (own house) and installed carpeting over the drain. That is not a good plan though as the trap will dry out and you will get odd smells from the ground water. We redid the carpet a few years ago and I sealed the drain as best I could and am hoping it'll work out. I wouldn't do it in someone's house though.
