Ceramic tile glue removal

I need to lift up some ceramic tile. It is easy to break the tile, but I am left with the glue or grout that is hard as a rock. How do I make my floor clean and flat so I can apply new flooring? Is there a tool of some kind? Thank you in advance to all who help.

Depends on whats underneath the tile. If its wood subfloor, rent an SDS hammer with a chisel bit and/or scraper bit. You can take up everything at once. If over concrete, the same thing will work to get most of it up, but you may need to spend some time with a grinder and a diamond cup wheel.
