Caulk Gap between kitchen wood floor and sheetrock to protect against roaches

Im installing kitchen cabinets and Iím wondering if i should caulk b/w the wood floor and the sheetrock. MY condo building doesnít have any roaches or mice, but you never know who youíre next neighbor will be.

Will the caulk allow for expansion of the wood floor? I left gaps for expansion as per the wood flooring manufacturers guidelines.

Thanks

It can't hurt to caulk it but if there are roaches in the building, they will find a way to enter, probably around the pipes. I'm in a rental & exterminators come once a month. They put a dab of some gel on a few hinges & a dab under the bathroom sink. A little dab 'ill do ya. There is no smell & I haven't seen any insects.

I agree with the other response. It won't hurt, but I don't know that it would be very effective.

There's no "gap" at the bottom of the sheetrock as it is tight to the bottom plate. I agree with the others. They are coming in around pipe openings and other small gaps in the wall. Sprinkle Borax in the area. It won't kill them, but it will make them go to your neighbor's house. They enter your house for one reason........food. Clean things up and seal all food items and they will have no reason to enter.
