Cat Pee Soaked Pad Stuck to Hardwood Floor

Evening all,

I started demo on a house I am flipping today and when we pulled up the carpet the pad has basically fused with the hardwood flooring. I spent an hour or so with a putty knife and got some but there are huge areas where it's not making a dent. Anyone have any ideas on how to handle this?

Thanks

Re: Cat Pee Soaked Pad Stuck to Hardwood Floor

was on a remodel once & witnessed the house flipper reworking the old wood flooring with simple green... worked on the urine stains, greases, cleaned, even deodorized all at once... basically he gave the old wood floors a facelift without having to strip/sand refinish... was it perfect - nah; did it look great after compared to the before? you bet... that said, I can not truly speak/swear that it will easily remove you situation; but seeing as this product is about as friendly to use as you are going to find, what have you got to loose?

Another vote for Simple Green.

Soak it in S G, and wait a half hour , then try to scrape it.

This stuff is amazing, and environmental friendly.

I'd be concerned with any urine that has soaked down between the pieces of hardwood.
