Applying vinyl plank flooring on top of uneven concrete floor

Rebuilding laundry room. Concrete floor is uneven and slopes to drain quite well, maybe too much. Thinking of installing Allure commercial vinyl tiles but require some sort of underlayment tg smooth out the bumps and allow for good enough fit so they stay together. Saw some rubber matting that may work but not sure. One type looked like plastic sheeting with dimples that may allow any moisture to escape and the other was a rubber matting with a web pattern on the underside. Both seemed flexible enough to work.

Any suggestioins would be welcome. Thanks

Self leveling compound is the usual way---raise the drain opening---prime the concrete--mix up a bucket or more of the self leveling compound--pour and spread--
Let it float flat.

Over simplified---but essentially the method.

Re: Applying vinyl plank flooring on top of uneven concrete floor

THANKS OH "MIKE"...however, it's a little more complicated...the concrete floor has been painted several times, except where I have torn it up to install sewage drains, then back filled with new concrete and the furnace is also installed in the same area right next to where the floor slants down into the drain so,don't think self leveling will work very well there. I think it is a great idea but, way too complicated for what I need. Just wondering if the matting mentioned above would work well enough to bridge some minor bumps and slight gaps to prevent separation of the flexible flooring tiles while maintaining a way for any slight condensation to weep away. BTW the basement is very dry even when I excavated for the drain work. Thanks

I wish I could be more helpful---I've never installed the vinyl product you are considering--

Re: Applying vinyl plank flooring on top of uneven concrete floor

Thanks again oh "mike"...we have installed the domestic Allure in our LR, Kitchen and front entrance on the main floor and it is fantastic! Wears well, easy to clean and seems impervious to minor water spills like cat dish or even when sink leaked a lot due to loose drain fitting. Think we will look at the underlayment products, pick one and go ahead. But, that won't be for about a month. Will try to let you know how that goes. TP
