Alternative to self leveling concrete

Hey all,
I'm currently installing LVP in a basement room with Delta-FL and a 2mm foam underlayment. Almost finished except for this pesky entry way to the room. The section is 5 inches wide to where it meets carpet; it dips about 1/2 inch over that distance.
I would like to try to avoid buying a 50lb bag of self leveling material and would like to avoid the mess of concrete all together for what amounts to about a square foot to fix. I've tried correcting with the foam underlayment product, and have gotten close to a fix, but as you can imagine I'm getting some deflection in the planks.
Any recommendations to level out this area, preferably that do not involve concrete?
TIA

Some cedar shakes are nearly a half inch thick end and may have about the taper you need when installed with an adhesive.

Choose wood to ceramic on this to that.

Re: Alternative to self leveling concrete

Just an FYI update. I removed the excess foam and used some good ole 1.25"x7.75" shims so I could customize the leveling with every plank. This has gone a long way to mitigate the deflection and was most definitely worth the $5 fix! Thanks for the idea, SeniorSitizen!!
