I have seen some posts about splitting tongues on 5/8" bamboo. I am also having that issue with an 18g cleat nailing about every 6". I was using the 5/8 plate on the 18g and adjusted the air pressure. Still splitting - not completely off but some small cracks. I see some recommend changing the angle. Does this mean raising the height of the gun so it goes in just above the tongue?
I was told by the manufacturer to go to a 20g cleat. I got a gun and the longest cleat they have is 1-1/4". I completed a room and have some pops and clicks sometimes when I walk on it. Does this size cleat have enough holding power? Could this be causing the clicks and pops? I am nailing into 3/4" OSB.
