Question

Stovetop - igniters not firing

I have a Hotpoint, Model RGB805PEH1WH. last week all the burner igniters stopped sparking at once. What is the most likely cause? Am I right to think that it isn't a spark igniter switch? If the first one failed, would it stop them all from working? Or is it most likely the spark module?

Thanks Tom

Re: Stovetop - igniters not firing

Check for power first. A lot of the switches are sold four switches with everything wired together with a wire harness. So itís possible a broken wire in harness (it wouldnít be one switch bad if they all went out). You can check if the switches are putting power to the module. If it has power but itís not putting out itís the module

If you have power at the outlet it is most likely a bad spark unit. It is a simple plug and play replacement. This is what one looks like: https://www.mccombssupply.com/gas-ra...3096-ps235158/

Shop around $30-50 is normal pricing.

Not me. Duct tape is too expensive and you can't see through it. I use clear trash bags. I drive safely.

When you turn the knob to "light" do you still get the clicks, even if the burner doesn't ignite? Check the igniter and see if there's any food debris blocking gas flow to it.
