To replace or not replace

Today I had a fridge diagnosed by another company to have a bad compressor. I found the start control out. Replaced and the compressor ran but still not cooling. Put gauge on and the system was empty. Put nitrogen to it and found an evap coil leaking. The defrost heater was right next to the coil causing a leak

The coil is not that much to replace on a 2 yr old fridge but, I was told to also replace the compressor.

Should I replace the compressor or pull a long deep vacuum?

If the compressor is actually working and you have tested/verified, then go for the deep vac, save your client some money and come out smelling like roses. He call you FIRST the next time.
