Opinions on LG WM3170CW Front Loader

I got a free LG WM3170CW that has some pump issue, according to the people who put it on the side of the road. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Seems like a great washer. Anybody here have one? I'm wondering if it's worth it to fix. The board seems fine. The only thing I'm worried about is that it might have been used with treated well water, which is very salty in Florida.

It's a real good washer. If pump is bad buy the OEM one. They are not that expensive, the knockoffs don't last long at all and you'll be changing it again. Tub can be cleaned with a washer cleaner.

Re: Opinions on LG WM3170CW Front Loader

Hi, I bought a direct drive LG front load and I have been sorry ever since. It vibrates horribly when it goes out of balance. When I called the manufacturer they told me the machine had to be placed on a concrete floor, unfortunately my laundry room is on the first floor, not in the basement. I never had a problem with the front load Whirlpool I owned. Of course for free, what do you have to lose? LOLOL
