New house has no provision for washer/gas dryer

We're about to get a house without any connections for a washer and a gas dryer in the basement. Should I tackle it myself? I know the basics. Or should I hire someone. Who should I hire? A contractor?

Thank you.

You need to know more than the basics to extend gas piping. Only you know your limitations. Nobody on the forum can interpret what you know by knowing the basics.

Who do you think you should hire? A florist?

You hire a plumber and an electrician.
If you don't know who to hire it would be unlikely you could do the job as it requires more expertise then you currently have.

when you say: we are about to get a house...

do you mean you are buying a house or something else?

If you are buying it, do as you desire. If anything else; more than likely you are not allowed to do the work or even hire it down without permission from some other entity.
