Maytag Dryer, need help

I just acquired a nice maytag dryer. It has the 240 plug on it but by the model number, inside the door it says 120/240. Does this mean I can switch plugs and operate it at 120? Thank you

Re: Maytag Dryer, need help

Some say it is possible. Depends on the dryer and your electrical capabilities, but begs the question as to why you would. 110V is basically a hair dryer.

Re: Maytag Dryer, need help

absolutely not basically what that means is that you have components inside your dryer that opersate on 110 volts and 240 volts. The heating element requires 240 to heat
