grill ignitor


any tips for diognosing my 4 y/o ignitor ? i did change the battery, that is as far as i got.

Trash can fall on the electrode and cause it not to work, so check that out as well. If you don't see a spark it is possible the whole unit has gone south and needs replacing. Replacements are readily available at box stores and online.

^^. You could try bending the shroud in a bit to shorten the distance to the electrode. As well, if the shroud is really rusted it may impair the ability of the electrode to ground out. It's a pretty low powered device.

thanx guys

it has 4 electrodes, 2 on the sdie we always use, and 2 on the side that we almost never use.
i will wire brush them and see what happens. something is telling me its a dirty/rusted connection.
