Looking for another car soon

Navigator lost 3rd and 4th gear on the interstate. Must have been damaged in the crash. Truck started slowing down, while RPMs zoomed up. Turned on the flashers, let it coast, then got 2nd gear. Got off at the soonest exit, drove back home on local streets in 2nd gear.

Oh well. Great truck while I had it. Looking for maybe a Seinna.

Is a trans replacement not possible?

Re: Looking for another car soon

If the truck is worth saving consider either having the tranny rebuilt or purchasing a used transmission and go that route . Buying used has its own risks but " should " be offset with a lower purchase price . My oldest son and his wife have a Sienna van in their fleet , great vehicle but last year the transmission failed . They had an extended warranty that was less then 100 miles from expiring ! The warranty covered a new transmission from Toyota . My understanding is the Sienna uses a transmission from a smaller/lighter sedan ( Solara maybe ) and the heat kills them . Good luck

Damaged (bent) frame, tranny effed up, air bags blown, nope. i am done. Take the $4600 insurance, add a grand or so, get another car. Easy decision.

Ooooo, for $4600 I know exactly what I'd have bought!!

Single owner Lincoln MarkVIII.

Big, I am glad you are OK.
Sadly, but I am also glad that thing parted with you. I get it, retired and projects to do, vids to run for YouTube. I get it. But it was RPITA.

This is what hit me. A F-350 dually and what looks like a 40-foot, 15,000 lb trailer. The Kia Soul is what I hit. Good thing I was between them or the Kia, and the lady in it, would have gotten squashed.

Re: Looking for another car soon

Sad to hear , Looks like you got your money out of it though, I remember all your posts, and problems on it.

You stuck it out longer than I would have, and that's saying a lot, I kept my last one 26 years before giving up, and then only because some "BLONDIE" hit me, when I was parked.

I suggest that you start looking on e-bay for a replacement, I got one on there, for $6,000.00 less than a similar one sells for here at a local car lot.

Sure I had to spend $200.00 to rent a car and buy gas, and spend a daytrip, to go 600 miles south to pick it up, but I still save plenty.

Glad you are okay. Getting hit by a 1+ ton truck (in addition to the car hauler) is never fun.
