Great horned owls like rabbits.

Get a hunting dog for your back yard.

Re: Please someone help me now

We are lucky if we have a few Robins hanging around.

No large mature trees anymore as the city won't allow elms to be planted in new areas. Their massive roots wreck havoc on sewer lines ad house foundations. So now we have "suburbia" with neatly planned "housing" and smaller trees.

Plus there is a disease called Dutch Elm disease which wrecked lots of them.

Lots of condos too. Not very wildlife friendly suburbia is.

I could trap the rabbits but once again some animal loving snowflake neighbors might not agree with that so I live and let live.

We have urban deer in Assiniboine Park and some areas and they eat and damage a lot more than the rabbits. No natural predators so they all can feast on what we have.

Coyotes and wolves we have in Riding Mountain National Park and some other parks but not locally. Edmonton has a large river valley and urban coyotes but not Winnipeg.
Make a rabbit box to catch them.

Called my old time Florida plumber. He said toads in toilets happen occasionally, not often , an it came down from roof.

He said get on roof an put screening on pipe an tie it on.

No chance to ask:

1. What kind of screening
2. Tie with what?

It needs to be flexible an not rot in Fla sun.

Don’t know if i can reach roof with my 6’ ladder

An old Aluminum window screening, and a ZIP-TIE.

Would be one way, The tie would need replaced periodically, the Sun UV does decay them.

An old bean can with holes punched in it with an ice pick, and Baling wire, depends on how fancy you want it.

I think that there are caps made for them also just for critters to be blocked.

Careful getting up there, after a few years our old bones don't heal very well, if we fall.

Going off of Ed's suggestion, I'd use aluminum screen wire or hardware cloth and fasten it with a hose clamp - that should be a long term fix. If you can find purpose built 'top' to put on the pipe it would likely look the nicest.

Re: Please someone help me now

Maybe one of these would work, but you'll have to figure out what size:

2" - https://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Plum...ENT2/305851779

3" - https://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Plum...ENT3/305851781

4" - https://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Plum...ENT4/305851782

6" - https://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Plum...ENT6/305851783

They have a special glue if your vent is plastic, but we have something like these vent covers all over our septic check pipes/vents and we don't glue em down so you might not need the glue - just bring a rubber mallet to hammer it down and it should stay fairly well

There's also this kind if your pipe is metal:

I'm not entirely sure how these stay put though, looks like it might have a screwdrive clamp on it.

Re: Please someone help me now

Mystriss, thanks for the links. No idea size. Maybe if i post photo later someone can give me an idea. Or I can buy several sizes an return wrong ones. Yes I have mallet. Sure donít want to make extra trips up the ladder.

My roof has a lot of pipes. I assume since sink, toilet , shower are all in a row that the middle one is toilet?

I'm afraid I wouldn't know, our house only has one vent pipe I think. Post some pictures and I bet the guru's on here can figure it out

Yes a hose clamp from the Car parts store, much better than the ZIP-TIE.

And I have used several of them for this kind of thing.

But my brain was in "idle" mode when posting that.

Great catch.

Re: Please someone help me now

Probably not on the 6' ladder and even if you managed to get up, getting down is often much harder, unless you take the express route.

Careful with the mallet, things below might not appreciate too much pounding.

Here are some more pictures, lots of easy options. just getting up and down is the real challenge.
