A funny thing

Walked into our lobby just in time to see a lady going out the door carrying our big artificial plant.

Lol, a lizard had snuck inside the office an was hiding in the plant. She was shaking him off outside.

Some things make you wonder but arenít what they appear to be.

Oh dear,
Are there Game Wardens to notify about the aggressive polar bears? Are they protected or can you shoot dangerous ones?

Sounds like they need to keep more ammo. That sure wasn’t much

Labrador if you look at the latitude is WAY up North. Kinda like Alaska.

We don't have snow in the "South" where I am now.:biggrin2:

I was surprised to see they still have snow but I have never been up there, just looked it up on Googly Maps.

Possibly the bears are hungry because the water is not frozen enough for them to go out and hunt seals ( global warming is screwing everything up for them ) so they went looking for some BBQ.

That is no joke. Churchill, Manitoba has a big problem with them coming into town in the fall B4 Hudson's Bay freezes up. If you have a smelly BBQ that is very attractive to them.

Churchill has game wardens and traps and even a polar bear jail to hold them until ice freeze up when they can hunt seals.

I am not sure what they do in Labrador. Probably it is very remote where they are and wild and nobody manages the bears. They are HUGE and very dangerous.

If you live in the wild you have to expect wild animals to come a visitin.:glasses:

The funniest artificial plant story I have was a preacher's wife picking up some discarded water bottles left in the sanctuary and emptying them into an artificial plant up front. I didn't have the heart to tell her they didn't need watering.

Re: A funny thing

My husband once bought me an artificial flower plant in a pot as a joke - I can kill anything, to the point that the kids don't let me near the garden.

It was very pretty and realistic so I attempted to take good care of it - flooded my countertop and wet the floor :/

-- Up here in Alaska we have to kill polar bears who get to "accustomed" to human presence or they'll hunt anyone around - it's quite bad for the tourism business. We already lose a few tourists a year, it'd be a PR disaster to have them hunted and eaten publicly by hostile "ghost bears," a griz or black will drag the human off into the woods for some privacy while they eat, polar's don't care if every one watches...

Don't give up on yourself as a gardener.

I helped many people pass the barrier of "killing everything"

Eh I don't particularly like plants to be honest, never have really. I look at trees as "future building stock," grass is "water management," and flowers are "bee attractants that should be removed" heh

Trees are like grandfathers, great grandfathers, great-great grandfathers...Among the most magnificent, awesome, and enduring things on the planet. While all else seek shelter, they stand tall and in defiance of the storm. Teach us, that which does not bend will break. Sometimes.

'Cept gumball trees. I'm not saying it wasn't maybe a little sad to see those in the yard come down, but i'm still not particularly fond of gumball trees. One, a hurricane had came through and it lost a big branch. What was left of the branch looked like a fierce dragon head, and neck, emerging from the trunk of the tree. One night, late, moonlight, I stepped closer for a look, flashlight in hand. At that moment several....water bugs, big b*st*rds...many, they all came spilling out of the "dragon's" mouth. Decided right then at that moment, the tree couldn't be saved. Couldn't risk an exorcism, had some tree guys/dragon slayers come out the following week to take that and the one in the front yard down. I think the dog got a bit of the sads, she loved those gumballs. However, I was finally able to get full enjoyment of my yard.

A majestic tree used to be nearby. "The Senator" a 3,000 yr old tree. I was glad to have visited it shortly before a woman on drugs went inside the simple fence barricade and burned it down while doing drugs. When the remains were cut down the city had applications to receive a few slivers. I was too late to get any.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...98a6f730b9.jpg not a good picture of the tree but my daughter and I had a little time to kill while I was in Lafayette the other day so we went to Avery island where they make tobasco sauce to kill a few hours. This tree was planted for Grover Cleveland in the 1800ís. Donít remember the exact year. Thatís just amazing to me.

While we are talking about creatures we walked out to a small island and she was trying to get a closer look at these smaller alligators.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...09d3828b72.jpg when she got out to the end I asked if she saw the five footer she walked right past. She never saw it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...28db8f59d1.jpg
