Maybe that's a new fart test.

Re: Did your covid-19 test hurt

I wonder how many know that the CDC has been knowingly giving out incorrect numbers? That they have been inflating the numbers due to using two different testing methods?

Here's an interesting read.

Re: Did your covid-19 test hurt

Dave, it just occurred to me to get my thermometer out and use it periodically.

Nik, thanks, ugh. That looked worse than I thought.

I had the Covid test last week. They ran a swab around the inside of my nostrils for 15 seconds. Maybe 1/2" up the nose. Certainly not painful. Results negative.

Yikes! Big difference between 1/2" and 6".

As always...great feedback.

MTN,

You absolutely can be asymptomatic and infectious. That is, by large, large, large margin, the exception and not the rule. Seeing as the tests are only effective with an active infection, what you are suggesting as being "admirable" would require that person be tested everyday.

There are people that are tested on a Wednesday as negative, are positive on a Thursday.

That is all well and good if you are on the White House Staff, but what do you suggest the average American do? Get tested every day as well?

Why six inches up the nose? I didn't think the nose was that, er, long, or deep or whatever.

It's not that far. The swab is 6". It depends on your nose length, but, I'd assume there is more virus deeper in. Did you look at the UC Davis link?

Now Neal would need at least a foot. He has quite a long nose he looks down.

Whew!

That's a relief! About most of our noses, no comment about Neal's . . . .

I'm in line for that test in the rear. But I don't think it's for the virus.
