New dog with old tricks...

Hello to all from this old new member!

I just dropped in to snoop around to see if I can learn anything. I am 83 and retired for the past 20 years after a career that gave me lots of experience in the electrical and refrigeration fields, mostly the commercial sectors.

No doubt the trades have changed somewhat since my retirement but perhaps I can still offer some advice that is relevant. Having also operated a TV repair business at one time, I am fairly comfortable with complex circuit diagrams.

I generally take the most pleasure from sometimes being able to solve application issues using commonly available off-the-counter devices. The KISS principle is my guiding theme since the last letter in that Acronym no doubt refers to me.

With that intro, I will now slip back into the tall weeds and stay hidden until something presents an opportunity for me to get involved.

Another welcome dude. Add a nearby big city to your profile as codes and practices can vary.

It was the final iteration of the mangled version of the real name of the town, which is Mount Vernon. That was corrupted by some schoolmate back in the 50's to be Mouse Vernon... eventually some equally silly classmate by the name of Walter Cooke further condensed and corrupted it into Mousetown and that has stuck as the nickname for the past 69 years.

It wasn't exactly a term of endearment but we thought he had it pegged pretty well. Time has proven us somewhat correct since the population has went from 21,000 back then to 15,000 presently. Old Walt evidently knew what he was talking about.

Kids back them were just as silly as those now days but in less technological ways.

I have a good idea where all of those are.. I lived in Fullerton for 36 yrs., (right near the real Mousetown). Before that, in my wild younger days I spent some time in Texas roughnecking so Hugetown Texas rings true clear as a bell. I have a nephew (sis's boy) running an electrical wholesale house there.

tkx for the chuckle.
