New to the board

Hello all, new homeowner here from South Orange, NJ. Bought a 1919-built 2-story (plus attic and basement) home last June and have been steadily renovating since. Work done so far includes:

-Roof tear down (two layers of shingles on top of cedar shakes) and new roof install
-New gutters (old ones were strapped to the second layer of shingles and falling off)
-Refinished hardwood floors throughout house
-New cedar lattice fence

-Complete bathroom remodel
-Ripped up two layers of kitchen flooring and refinished hardwood underneath
-Ran new electrical to support kitchen refresh
-Kitchen cabinet refresh + tile backsplash + new butcherblock to replace old laminate countertop
-Various plaster repairs (ceilings, walls, etc)
-Stripped, sanded, and painted various rooms
-Stripped and repainted original doors
-Various steam heating system repairs and maintenance

So far, so good. I'll be seeking advice as I deal with structural issues, battle with steam heat, and update more bits of old work.

Welcome: That is the curse of home ownership, you gotta do the improvements out of your own pocket, and Blood, Sweat, And Tears.

But it is worth it because it is yours.
