Thank you all for providing what appears to be a great online resource!

I've just purchased my first home. It was built around 1950... but it appears they've taken great care in keeping it up. The plumbing is mostly new, minus a water softener I just installed. The septic tank is also new.

The only dated pieces are the furnace and oil tank. I'll be looking into those and that's what brought me here. I'm confident I'll be able to learn a lot from this forum after reviewing some posts and can't wait to get started.

I spent 4 years living with my wife's parents while she went to school and didn't work. It definitely is :P

The pain from a little work and studying to fix it up is nothing compared to those years. lol
