subforums not always displaying all threads

running chrome.

often when I open a sub-forum, the most recent threads aren't displayed.

The one with the newest reply, displayed on the page that lists all the subs isn't there when i open the sub-forum.

Yet i can access newer threads i posted on by searching my user name.

Sounds like some kind of data-base issue.

Re: subforums not always displaying all threads

Why on earth would logging in required be to see the most recent threads.

It seems to be intermittent. Just now the newest ones showed up after logging in.

Before i viewed the page through tor network just as a test and all the recent threads showed up, but not when browsing normally.

Not an acceptable answer.

I'm a member of a few forums, and non of them require me to log in to see new posts.
I can do it here if I select new posts, but then I see all the other sub-forum new posts.
Same with ET.

Fix it, or loose contributing members.

Re: subforums not always displaying all threads

I'll have to agree with user, it appears the thread page (on my comp. anyway) isn't updating properly. I can read the most recent title on the main page in HVAC, but that title isn't even listed on the thread page.

The thread page may have two current topics for the entire day. It has never acted this way before.

The site was moved to Cloud Flare around March 20th in order to provide a more responsive and secure site for logged in users. Members are encouraged to log into the site for optimal user experience.

I stay logged in by adding a checkmark in the remember me box next to login.

Cloud flare shouldn't interfere with the basic operation of a site and intermittently hide some recent content intended to be public.

Maybe it would be a good idea to look into this problem?
I mean, it affects members that contribute free content which brings more people to the site and increases ad revenue.

The cache is longer for guests than it is for our members, so being logged in allows you the view the new content quickly. As I mentioned previously, members are encouraged to log into the site for optimal user experience.

Re: subforums not always displaying all threads

I for one, don't have any problems remaining logged in, nor does it bother me to need to log in to see content. That's the general requirement of like 80% of the internet anyway. ~shrug~

Re: subforums not always displaying all threads

Can't the most up to date version be displayed whether you're logged in or not?

I don't see any reason why there should be a delay - it's not any more secure.

The delay isn't all inclusive as the main page listing the sub-forums stays up to date.

is this a crude way to get more people to create user accounts who just want to view?
