Fairly new makita hammer drill. It's not light duty either. But the half inch chuck uses a key and it's been dissatisfying. Original key wore out and the chuck loses the bits unless I'm torquing down on the key. I have new replacement key but am thinking the whole chuck isn't the best.
My older dewalt cordless hammer drill came with chuck made by rohm. It's keyless and clicks tight. One hand operation. I found the company website and it makes keyed chucks. I was wondering if rohm chucks are superior. Another company anybody can recommend? Is jacobs still a good company or has it become inferior? I'm fine with key chucks but would like precise fits that will hold the bits without me struggling with tightening.
