Wall washing or Grazing lights for 3d wall panels?

On my 8.5ft high by 13.5ft wall, I will be installing installation 60" high 3d wall panels across the length of the center of wall per photo below.

I'll be installing three 4" recessed gimbal LED light to highlight the panel wall.

I'm debating on if I should mount the LED 12-18" from the wall for a grazing effect or further out like 24-36" for a wall washing effect.

My ceiling has a 110 degrees slope and the lights can pivot 30 degrees leaving me with about 10 degrees of play towards the wall.

mount them on a 2x4, then make 2x4 legs to hold that up. then set it up and look at it. then move it around and look at it.

or, hang the 2x4 lights from 2 shelf brackets mounted above your artwork.
