Under Floor Insulation

I have a home built on a crawl space and it is sealed. Rats got into the crawl space and destroyed some of the sealing material as well as nested in my insulation. My contractor resealed, removed insulation and added a dehumidifier. Do I need to put the under floor insulation back?

Re: Under Floor Insulation

Crawlspaces are generally sealed from the outside air and open to the house air or vice-versa. If open to the house air, the walls are insulated. If open to the outside air, the ceiling get insulated.

Re: Under Floor Insulation

Hi bear, where are you, warm or cold climate?

I assume that insulation that was removed was in the floor. Do you have heat ducts exposed down there, water pipes, or any appliances? Is the floor concrete or dirt?
