Re: Should I?? Basement or Crawl?

Update. Ended up with a tall crawl. Got out there and started dig, hopefully a basement. Hit a bunch of leverite rock (as in leave-er-right-there). Decided basement not worth what it would cost. Ended up 3 blocks tall on uphill side, 8 on downhill. Was able to grade site so zero steps from carport to door.

Yep, cut down top of hill about 18"....mostly flat to east where road/driveway comes in (slopes 15+ ft out from house for proper drainage). Slopes from there to pond about 20' over 150'. Carport is out back, on side of house running up/down hill....patio on downhill side, so some fill -- level in relation to up/down hill, and sloping away from the house (to the north)
