Preventing rust and corrosion

I have a lawn leaf sweeper, the kind you tow behind a sit down mower that i was planning to leave outside this winter. I don't have the garage or shed space to store it so was planning on just leaving it out in the elements under a tarp. Is there a spray that anyone can recommend to also help in preventing rust? something like corrosion x or WD40?

I'd probably consider a consider a can of Fluid Film unless something on the shelf seemed better. Readily available at many outlets.

Paint the bare metal. Oil the moving parts generously.

Wouldn't recommend the standard WD40,
but their long term rust inhibitor https://www.amazon.com/WD-40-300038-...MCPZPKX9RE734W

I certainly wouldn't want to leave one outside, there's too much chance for it to prompt when you want to use it again. They are light enough to just hang on the wall. A couple of hooks up high on the wall and hang it from the handle. Been there done that many times and it works great!
