Low cost solutions

Didn't know which category to put this in so Mods move if needed. I need to box the carport beams in to keep the birds from building nest. I have used window screen before and it lasted several years but would like to find something more permanent. I thought about roll flashing but that would get expensive quick with the size of it. Any ideas something that is fairly inexpensive that can be screwed up there. Thanks Michael

I wonder if 12' long pieces of vinyl soffit would be wide enough?

Re: Low cost solutions

I would find someone with an aluminum break, and make some angled pieces that would make it so the birds could not perch. they would just slide off so-to-speak... Could do it with 2x2 wood and a table saw, but then would need to prep and paint that...

Re: Low cost solutions

Use a better quality screen. Perhaps aluminum instead of fiberglass.
