Not that I’m aware of. Hardi didn’t start manufacturing in the US until 1989.

What kind of problems are you referring to?

I'm in New Zealand where it was used extensively in 60's 70's 80's. I'm wondering about any asbestos content it might have

I am buying a house with hardiplank siding but the siding has so many different gaps between it with caulking. How much space should be between the hardiplank end to avoid caulking

Well crisnoel apparently Hardi did contain asbestos until 1987.

Google “asbestos hardiplank New Zealand” , you’ll have plenty to read.
