Gap between driveway and garage

There is a gap between the driveway and garage that runs the entire width of the driveway. I can see the rebar. The distance between the driveway and the garage slab is about 10 inches, and the depth is approximately 6 inches. Is this something that I can fix myself, and if so, how?

Thanks!

A little more detail would be nice.
Is this a new house you just moved into?
Did you wake up this morning and the gap just appeared over night?
What material is the driveway? Concrete?
Has the gap widened over time?

I had a gap in front of my garage and asphalt drive way it was about 3" wide and 2" deep. I patched it and all good now. Water washed the dirt away

The driveway is concrete. I don't know too much about the history of it - it's a house that I am considering purchasing. I do know that the garage has had foundation repair. That is probably why there is the separation between the driveway and the garage.

John, a "separation", is an inch or so. Up at 10", you have a chasm. Short of an earthquake, something happened to create it.
I'd want to know what that was.
